The miGut-Health project is bringing together leading international experts for a miGut-Health symposium titled “Diet, Stress and Lifestyle as Risk Factors in IBD” on 19 May in Cremona, Italy. The event will be hosted by the EngageMinds HUB and the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, and will be accessible both in person and online.

The symposium will feature renowned researchers and clinicians addressing how nutrition, the microbiome, and psychological factors interact in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Highlights include sessions on how diet shapes gut microbiota, new clinical evidence on dietary interventions for Crohn’s disease, and the role of stress, self-compassion, and mental health in disease management .

Taking place on World IBD Day, the event also contributes to raising awareness of the challenges faced by people living with IBD and highlights the importance of prevention and holistic care approaches.

In addition to expert talks, the programme will present the latest findings from the miGut-Health project and conclude with a roundtable on prevention strategies that integrate biomedical, nutritional, and psychological insights.
